SSK
is going to organize 5 days Training on "Monitoring
& Evaluation and Results Based Framework (logical framework
analysis)" for The Hunger Project (THP), New
Delhi during 20th - 24th June. The focus shall be on understanding
logical frame work analysis and the project monitoring and
evaluation based on logical framework and their indicators.
SSK is also going to organize 6 days training for CASA on
"Understanding CBOs in right based development
context and RBM" from 25th to 30th June. The
focus will be to understand the right based development context
for long term development and the concept of result based
management in managing the development projects. |

Reducing
Vulnerability of Migrant Workers, Sitapur (Source End) |
Migrants
Rights Awareness Campaign- Organized Migrants
campaign in 4 Panchayats in this month. During the campaign,
Community level mobilization meeting, distribution of posters,
handbills was given to disseminate the information related
to Migrants rights and services provided through Migration
Resource Center. Through this meeting, we have found that
women show their interest to form collectives, people used
to come forward for the registration or for ID cards. |

Vocational
Training/ Youth Mobilization |
Batch
of Mobile Repairing is completed in this month. The placement
for the students is in process. For the next batch, applications
are collected. Counseling and registration process for new
batches is in process. |

Prawasi
Pariwar Samuha |
Two
days orientation program was organized at Shramik Sahayta
Kendra. In this program, the newly formed group Saraswati
Prawasi Pariwar Samuha, of Malhoi Saraya also took part. Through
this 2 days program, they were oriented about need of group
formation, services given by Shramik Sahayta Kendra, how to
redress grievances in group, rights etc. Regular monthly meeting
of existing Pravasi Parivar Samooh is organized. In the meeting
update their regular maintenance and also disseminate information
regarding project services. In the Migrant rights campaign
the members were took part and shared their experience with
other. |

Legal
Counseling |
Legal counseling has been organized with the migrant. In the
counseling the legal cases has been dealt by federation. Samajik
Vikas Prerak Sangh intervenes on legal cases and started to
document of the cases. The case of local labors is documented
by the federation. The federation works actively in their
respective areas. |

Registration
and ID cards distribution |
For
the legitimate identity of the migrants as identity proof
till now we registered 1350 migrant labors among them 608
Identity cards has been distributed. For the registration
contact has been made with the newly elected members. The
registration form has been collected from extensive area.
The demand of ID cards has been raised. |

Advisory
Committee |
Monthly meeting of Advisory Committee has been arranged. In
this meting two new members took participation. In the meeting
the focus was given on the on going activities of the project.
In the meeting discussion has been held on the Health camp
which will conduct in coming month. In the camp the main focus
will be on skin problem, dental, general health problem etc.
The camp will be organized with Mobile kiosk in a particular
area. |

Meeting |
The mobilization meeting has been organized to form new collectives
and also to disseminate the information of project services.
The meeting has been organized at Rahimabad and Chilwara Panchayat.
In the meeting the importance and procedure to form the Prawasi
Pariwar Samuha. Through these process new groups has been
formed. The mobilization meeting help to form new collectives
in the community, it also help us to reach in the community.

| Reducing
Vulnerability of Migrant Workers, Ghaziabad (Destination End) |
| Health
camp was organized at destination end, Ghaziabad
on 7th May. The camp has been organized collaboratively at
slum area of Shahstri Nagar with district hospital Ghaziabad.
In this camp 235 migrants took participate and get their basic
treatment. In the camp basic health problem, dental problem,
Chiken pox, Diabetes check up etc has been done. |

Contact has been made with the resource group. For the fruitful
implementation of the project at destination end this group
is giving their support. |

Mobilization

Contact
has been made with the migrants of Bhopura-sitapur group,
Shastrinagar-riksapullar. The information regarding Sharamik
Sahayata Kendra has been shared with them. The information
regarding health camp has been disseminating with them. Discussion
has been held on trade based group formation at destination
end with the target group. The meeting has been held in different
areas of the destination end. |

Networking
and Liaison have been made up with the stakeholders and also
with the resource group. The strategy for further activity
regarding health camp and trade based group formation has
been in discussion. |

Sahbhagi
Vocational Training Centre |
|
Objective:
Basic purpose of this vocational training centre is to enhance
the skills of dalit and marginalized community youths and
especially girls in order to enhance their employablity. This
will develop new skills in youth and they will be able to
earn their livelihood.
Need for Vocational Training Centre in nearby area was identified
through preliminary survey which was held few months ago by
SSK. Vocational training has been identified as the most emerging
field having bright scope in future. Keeping in mind the image
building and diversification of SSK/SST in Vocational training,
we have started Sahbhagi Vocational Training Centre.
Sahbhagi
vocational training centre is currently running basic computer
training for Girls and Women belonging to marginalized and
minority community.
This training is running in 2 batches.
Both the batches have 14 students each.
Training is held in SSK Head Quarter.
Course Module and Time-Table is designed according to the
competency mapping done prior to the training.

Shikshan Kendra new field Office in Jharkhand, Japla |
It’s
a matter of pride that Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra started new
office in Japla, Hussainabad block of Palamau district of
Jharkhand from 1st April, 2011.There are 22 panchayats in
Japla or Hussainabad block. We will implement the project
in 10 panchayats. SSK objective is to start project like women
strengthening of new representative of PRI, Skill development
activities of women and girls (dalit & minority). Dalit
and minority girls child education. Now we are involved in
collection of secondary data, meeting with government officials,
visit of panchayat and village area, Rapport building in panchayat
village, Collection of primary data, Meeting with mukhiya,
meeting with villagers and Households etc. Based on our initial
meeting and discussion. We will prepare comprehensive project
proposal, which will be send to different donors and resources.
SSK-Jharkhand has been impaneled as a resource organization
for conductive training of elected representatives of PRI
by UNDP-Jharkhand. Currently staff of SSK-Jharkhand are undergoing
master trainers training (TOT-Training of Trainers) being
organized by Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration
(SKIPA) Ranchi-Jharkhand. The trained master trainers will
then start training of elected representatives in all the
block of Palamau, Latehar and Garhwa district. This activity
is jointly undertaken by SSK and Vaidik Society-Latehar-Jharkhand. |

Strengthening and Women Empowerment Programme |
Gram
Sabha Meeting - Meeting
with Gram sabha members was organized at Udaipur, Bhelkha,
Chandapur and Ganeshpur Gram panchayats of Harahua block.
The agenda of the meeting was to understand the roles and
responsibilities of gram sabha members in the village development
& enhance their awareness by active participation of women
in the village development by discussing their rights. In
the meeting there were 60-80 gram sabha members from each
gram panchayats. |

One day orientation of Health and Education Committee at Panchayat
level |
One
day orientation of PRI members, especially health and education
committee was carried for 5 gram panchayats (Shrikanthpur,
Rampur, Chandravati, Ugapur and Dhaurahara) of Cholapur Block.
In this orientation ANM, Aganwadi, ASHA and school teachers
participated. Objective of the orientation was to explain
the roles and responsibilities of these committees for better
planning of village development and enhance their awareness
level by demonstrating government developmental schemes. Around
55 PRI members of health and education committee participated
in this orientation in which 45% were women. |

(EWRs) |
Training
of Master Trainers and project Staff- Training
of Master trainer on PRIs at institutional level has been
organized at Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Jaunpur district by 7 partner
organizations in their respective districts. The TOT for these
master trainers is organized unit wise. From each partner
organization, training is conducted in 3 units. Objectives
of the trainings are:
To
prepare a cadre of master trainer by enhancing their perspective
on the issues related to local self governance.
Enhancing training and facilitation skill of the project staffs.

of Elected Women Representatives (EWR) |
The
training of EWRs was started from 18th May, 2011 in four batches.
In each batches 25-30 EWRs are participating. The training
has been conducted at partner organizations offices at the
local level. Methodology being used in the training is practice,
group discussion, play, documentary movie etc.
Objective of the training:
Strengthening capacities of Women Elected Representatives
and building their analytical skills so that, they will be
able to analyze their circumstances and issues which they
come across as women elected representatives.
Building a resource based on good practices on women in politics
in print and through production of video and documentaries. |

Summer
Camp: A step towards developing skills of rural girls- 1
month summer camp was organized from 16th May 2011 to 16th
June 2011 for girls who were associated with Vidya Gyan
Scholarship programme with the aim of developing different
aspect of their personality and teach weak students by play
and learn method. Girls also play different games available
inside the resource center. It was decided that more focus
will be given on personality development and enhancing of
interest on science and English Objective of the camp was
to provide platform to the hidden creativity of the girls.
Around 162 girls participated in the camp.

meetings with HDC and Task force committees.

hamlet development committee and 19 task force meeting has
organized in 8 gram panchayats of kaiserganj and jarwal blocks
in bahraich district. The main focus of the meeting to prepared
the task force committees. HDCs will repair the wooden boats,
check the search & rescue equipments. On the other hand
early warning task for committee member has check his/her
mobile phone, siren and mega phone, First aid committee members
has fill his/her first aid box with medicines. They have collects
the normal medicines from local CHC/PHC. They also collect
clorin tables and ORS packets from nearest health centers.
HDCs also build pressure over gram pradhan to testing the
mechanized boat and store petrol and kerosene oil before flood.

with Grain Bank committee members |
On
19th May 2011 Bhaggan purwa grain bank committee members organized
monthly meeting with the presence of all members. After a
long discussion committee members has decide that they will
not take the May month interest. That day gain bank members
have returned his/her wheat with four to five month interest.
Present time 161 kg of wheat has collect as a interest in
the grain bank. |

in 5 days Panchayati Raj TOT at Ranchi, Jharkhand |
From
16 -21st May 2011 Jharkhand government organized five days
panchayti Raj orientation training for local NGOs in Shri
Krishna Institute of public administration, Ranchi. 32 participants
from 23 NGOs have participated in this training. From SSK
Mr. Saroj Kumar Singh and Mr. Deepak Kumar have represented.
Participants has understand about Jharkhand panchayat, role
and responsibility of mukhia, Decentralize the role, Different
kind of panchayat funds, utilize the fund to develop gram
panchayat. |

Participate
in district level ASHA mentoring group - Bahraich meeting
|
On
27th May 2011 district health department has organized ASHA
mentoring group meeting at DM camp office, Bahraich. From
SSK Saroj singh and sanjeev chakraborty has participated in
this meeting. District magistrate, Bahraich Mr. Govind Raju
N.S has facilitated the meeting and told the health department
to select the best ASHA worker. He also focused that health
department has create better coordination with DRDA. Both
the department will sit in one common platform to make strategy
for ASHS selection with the help of gram pradhan and Shawast
samiti. DM also builds pressure to health department to store
all kinds of medicine before flood and send in all CHC and
PHC. |

Taken by Displaced Communities |
About
500 -600 Displace community of Nasirganj, Baharampur, Ratihata,
Dhanrajpur, Niyamatpur gram panchayats of jarwal block has
gather at Dhanrajpur and blocked the Lucknow-Bahraich high
way. Four SSK intervention hamlets of Pancham and Jatai purwa
in Baharampur gram panchayat, Mahallan and Uttar purwa from
Nasirganj gram panchayat has eroded in year 2010 flood. All
the displace community took part of this Dharna perdarsan.
They have demand for rehabilitations, compensation of agriculture
land, employment, all kinds of government facilities, security
ect from district administration. They have hand over his/her
demand application to Sub divisional magistrate Mr. Ayodha
Prashad. Displace community also give warning to distinct
administration if district administration will uncare his/her
demand. So all the displace people will sit for hunger strike.

Education for Minority Women and girls through Community led
Change Agents |
Starting
of Batch II Vocational Training at Vanita Polytechnic As
a part of this project, second batch of 22 girls started from
9th May, 2011. Girls are selected from 2 gram panchayats of
Cholapur and Raunakhurd. They are receiving training in 5
different trades such as, Zardoji, Sewing and cutting, Computer,
Machine embroidery and Beautician. All trades have scope in
the rural area and also have demand in present market scenario.
Arrangement of travel and raw materials for the courses is
provided by SSK. |

of Vocational Training Center at Village level |
In
the 2nd approach of vocational training to the adolescent
girls, 2 training centres at village level are started in
May, 2011. In the Bhavanipur and Dhaurahara Gram Panchayats,
53 girls are registered for sewing and cutting course. 2 technical
person are appointed for both the centres. Syllabus is design
for 2 months course. Mostly drop out girls are invloved. An
additional skill will enhance their confidence and they will
be encouraged. In the 1st batch at Bhavanipur girls were provided
training on making handmade purse. |

Sanitation Awareness Campaign |
This
activity was conducted to ensure quality of education and
better school sanitation. Under this, report card survey on
school sanitation was carried out in 10 gram panchayats of
Cholapur block. Issue of the survey was the availability of
school sanitation facilities in primary, upper primary and
high school. After this survey, a sharing of the analysis
was dont via campaign at villages with the stakeholders as,
Guardian, Students, PRI members Aganwadi, ASHA and some retired
person of the village participating in the campaign. The analysis
of data of the schools is presenting to create a dialogue
between stakeholders. Signature campaign and rally also assembling
through this campaign. |

meeting was organized in May 2011 at Dhaurahra, Charadravati,
Rampur, Tisura Raunakhurd gram panchayats. The agenda of the
meeting was to understand the objective of the organization
and need to work with adolescent girls. In this meeting adolescent
girls and their parents actively participated. |

Change Agents working as a Role model |
Citizen
leaders always work as a role model amongst the community.
20 CCAs are working in their respective villages. After 2nd
phase training, some issues were raised by CCAs in the villages.
There are frequent liasoning with Aganwadi, ASHA and PRI members.
In the villages people know them as a community worker in
some gram panchayats and have also started sharing their issues.
Their understanding on local issues is enhancing and they
are working as a role model. |
