With the view to have spatial and larger impact of development practices on the society KMRC is involved in collection, collation and dissemination of the best practices. Consequently, it has established ICT unit and maintains a good library with publication division. The process of capturing, organizing, and storing information and experiences of workers and groups within an organization and making it available to others.

ICT Unit

The ICT Unit fully supports the training programs, administrative support systems, the community of staff at our SRC and DRCs, and events and training programs organized by other CSOs at our center.
Our initiation is to provide up-to-date, easy-to-use and seamlessly integrated computer hardware, operating system platforms, network access to global information systems, and applications that reflect recent and current commercially available technological advancements of the IT industry and the practices and trends of the wider public IT user community.
Maintain all computing facilities and time to time providing computer laboratories in working and professionally prepared good order as per the requirement of the Trainer. It also facilitates computer trouble-shooting and routine maintenance. This results in efficient handling, processing, co-ordination and administration of organizational resources, which is decisive for the competitiveness of the organization.
Now with the increasing importance of computers and web networks in the growth of an individual or an organization, the pace of imparting information is very very fast and one can be enlightened. For the same we have updated our website with the information of current happenings and concluded activities of SSK. It also provides information on various themes, program and activities on which SSK is currently engaged. For viewers, the publication section provides the details of SSK’s Publications, Reports, various Documentary Films (VCD & DVD). The website is regularly updated with most of the useful details for other CSO’s and various voluntary section organizations. Information about upcoming Short Duration Training Programs are also provided along with their participation forms.
Studies in the psychology of learning suggest that the use of audio-visuals in training has several advantages. In our Training halls, provided with latest audio-visual equipment used for information display, projection and copying whether computer-connected or independently operated.

Library

A copious library was established 16 years ago with the objective of broad basing and up-scaling the host of activities related to dissemination of all kinds of learning and experiences emanating from S.S.K’s own as well as partner organizations’ endeavors and making available the other relevant reading materials for its trainees, staff and others for better knowledge management. The library makes available all relevant reading materials to trainees staff and other knowledge seeking people.

Library timings are flexible. It opens at 9.00 AM in the morning and closes at 7.00 PM in the evening. The closing time is extended up to 8’o clock during training sessions for the convenience of trainees.
More than 3080 books on various issues like Participatory and rural development, PRIs, Gender issues, Disaster Management, HIV/AIDS, Organizational Development and Management and Hindi/English literatures etc are available in the library.
More than 300 audio-video CDs and cassettes are available on development issues as Education, RTI, Disaster Management, environment etc. Motivational and information based documentary films are also available in good number.
More than 100 types of subscribed and unsubscribed magazines, periodicals newsletter and journals on various development issues like health, education, rural development and others including some international magazines are regular features of library.

A collection of other organizations’ publications is also available in the library and it also provides reference materials for research and development studies.
S.S.K itself has also brought out more than 70 types of manuals pertaining to different development issues.

S.S.K publishes its own as well as partner organizations’ Annual Reports, Broachers, Case Studies and Activity Reports on regular basis. Besides that it also publishes posters, handbills and leaflets related to its interventions.
